Now that we are an Affiliated Community of the National Main Street America movement, we are honored to share their open statement regarding equality. After reading the statement below click here for resources and more information of how we can work together to make Main Street open to everyone!
An organization that represents its community has better outcomes and more proven impact. Nonprofits are stewards of our collective resources. A majority of support for nonprofits comes directly or indirectly from the public. Therefore, being representative and inclusive of the population identified by a nonprofit’s mission and goals is key to maintaining public trust, supporting organizational sustainability, and fostering effectiveness. A diverse, equitable, and inclusive nonprofit strives to serve its community by incorporating the diversity of those impacted by their work in solutions; it also tracks gaps, progress, and successes of inclusion efforts. Nonprofits are stronger when they include a variety of experiences, perspectives, and skills, and utilize practices that nurture creativity and equity.

We are thrilled to announce the third annual Downeast Cider & Cheese Festival in Ellsworth, Maine. This festival celebrates the Downeast region's deep connection to traditional foods. Funding from the Maine Office of Tourism will support amplified marketing efforts to promote direct sales from farmer to consumer while highlighting the production processes of both cider and cheese. Bangor Savings Bank's continued sponsorship will support the festival's deep connection to the community. Additionally, this annual state-wide festival will assist our partnership with Downeast Acadia Regional Tourism to promote the Downeast region through cultural heritage. We have great pride in our community’s connection to craft food and are proud to be partnering again with John Edwards Market, Rooster Brother, and Fogtown Brewing Company.
Won’t you join us this November 13-15 for a Cider & Cheese Market, Virtual Tasting, Cider Pressing, and more?

Why donate to the Heart of Ellsworth?
Heart of Ellsworth remains focused and committed to economic growth through projects in the urban core.
Our vision seeks to fill storefronts on Main Street, secure a location for the Winter Farmers Market, develop the Union River waterfront with green space along the river, and identify and assist in the creation of more downtown housing options. Collectively, these enhance opportunities for both visitors and community members to enjoy all that Ellsworth has to offer.
Your contribution ensures that we can remain committed to these goals. We appreciate your support!
