Volunteer in Your Downtown
In March of this year, Heart of Ellsworth became an Affiliate Community of the Maine Downtown Center and National Main Street America Program. The transformation strategies pictured here outline the four point approach we are adopting to structure community work. This month, on social media we will be posting how volunteers can become involved in our efforts to make downtown Ellsworth more visually stimulating, economically sound and inviting for visitors and residents alike. Are you interested in volunteering?

Keep Heart of Ellsworth Beating Strong!
We love this community, and know you do too. Your support of our focus on economic growth through projects in the urban core is what makes our work possible. We are now asking for your help to sustain us through these unprecedented times. Your generosity will keep the Heart of Ellsworth beating strong. Our vision is, but not limited to, fill storefronts on Main Street, secure a location for the Winter Farmers Market, develop the Union River waterfront with green space along the river, and identify and assist in the creation of more downtown housing options. Collectively, these enhance opportunities for both residents and visitors to enjoy all that Ellsworth has to offer. Your contribution ensures that we can remain committed to these goals. Thank you!
Thanks to a generous grant from the Maine Community Foundation, we are partnering with the Ellsworth Historical Society to bring you images of Ellsworth’s past. By highlighting historic downtown locations and events, we aim to foster a present-day pride and connection to our Main Street community. We invite you to visit the Ellsworth Historical Society on Facebook and encourage your support of the Museum in the Streets project and archival work of the society.
This fantastic video, narrated by Bill Fogle, is a short history of the Tracy Building and the first of several planned videos showcasing Ellsworth history and the Historical Society!
