Artists Invited to Submit Qualifications for Outdoor Public Mural in Downtown Ellsworth, Maine
Heart of Ellsworth is continuing phase one of a downtown Ellsworth outdoor public art mural and is inviting artists to submit qualifications through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process.
The site for the mural will be a brick building on the banks of the Union River and the selected artist will work with the Heart of Ellsworth Mural Committee, community groups and volunteers to research potential subjects.
An RFQ has been posted at heartofellsworth.org and will remain open until October 4th.
We are gathering information to support a feasibility study for a Makerspace/ Arts Center in Ellsworth. If you are an artist or have an artist in your life please take our survey or pass along the link. Each completed survey with participant contact information will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 Gift Certificate at 86This! We will not share your personal information.
Fall Waterers Needed - Be a Part of Making Main Street Beautiful!
Look at this community member leading by example in a BIG WAY! We are looking for volunteers THIS FALL to water 6 flower pots on Main Street for 1 week intervals. We’re asking attendees to wear masks, per the library’s policy. People are welcome to listen on the library’s lawn without masks–we’ll have the windows open. Registration is required. Luchini’s Restaurant was a famous spot on Main Street from the 1920s through the 1960s. After the 1933 fire, which destroyed most of downtown, the Luchini family quickly built a new restaurant that featured a bowling alley in the basement.
