Meet Heart of Ellsworth Board Member- at-Large!
Paul Markosian

Paul Markosian grew up in Montclair, NJ, and attended University of Wisconsin-Madison and Brooklyn College. In 1994, he and his wife, Lorena Stearns, visited Hancock County. They were instantly smitten and decided to relocate here from Brooklyn, NY. In 1996 they bought an old house in Sullivan, where they lived for ten years. In 2006 they moved to downtown Ellsworth with their then five year old son, Beckett. A year later their second son, Felix, was born.

Today, Paul and Lorena own Flexit Cafe & Bakery as well as Finn's Irish Pub, two destinations that help make our downtown vibrant. Besides sitting on the board of Heart of Ellsworth, Paul also serves on the Ellsworth School Board.

Paul enjoys spending time with his family hiking, biking, and traveling, but mostly he is content to focus his energies close to home. As he puts it, “I joined Heart of Ellsworth because I want to help our downtown attract people to visit here, to live here, and to become part of our business community. Because there is no better place than this."

Why donate to the Heart of Ellsworth?

Heart of Ellsworth remains focused and committed to economic growth through projects in the urban core.

Our vision seeks to fill storefronts on Main Street, secure a location for the Winter Farmers Market, develop the Union River waterfront with green space along the river, and identify and assist in the creation of more downtown housing options. Collectively, these enhance opportunities for both visitors and community members to enjoy all that Ellsworth has to offer.

Your contribution ensures that we can remain committed to these goals.
We appreciate your support!
